I purchased a heart shaped cake, and cupcakes for my daughter’s wedding celebration. The staff was very helpful with helping me decide which design to go with. It was beautiful and absolutely delicious! Everyone asked where I got it from, I was proud to say The Westside Bakery. Definitely my go to bakery.
Very tasty hole-in-the-wall bakery with a friendly staff and inviting atmosphere. Chocolate croissant was delicious, and the coffee (coconut roast) was amazing. My wife and I have been here a few times and need to start going more! There’s a monthly soup menu as well that we are intrigued by, and may try that next time if it isn’t breakfast time.
Quaint little bakery and cafe. I enjoyed that the macaroons weren't sickeningly sweet. A touch of sweetness and all coconut! I'll for sure be back again!
West Side Bakery did an incredible job with our custom cake order! They were friendly, professional, and communicative throughout the order process. We had some reference photos for the vision we wanted and they absolutely nailed it!
Lovely cakes! I had my wedding cake ordered through West Side Bakery, and it was beautiful! The flavors we chose were red velvet with cream cheese and almond with raspberry. My husband wanted our three teired cake to be red velvet. The baker was very informative and let us know that the icing for our desired look could only be made using butter cream on the outside. She warned us that the flavors would not encompass that of a traditional red velvet cake because of the butter cream icing. Regardless, the red velvet was my favorite! I loved every bit of that cake and will be saving it in the freezer for us! Do consider them for your next event!
I grew up in Akron and have been coming here for many years. They have the best desserts around!! I have tried many recipes and nothing comes close to their cut out cookies!! My daughter and I love them. Something about their icing that you can’t find elsewhere. I would die for their recipe! Definitely worth stopping in if you’re out and about.
This is the third cake I’ve gotten from this bakery and every one was amazing! They don’t just make beautiful cakes they also taste amazing!! I drive 40 minutes one way and it is 100% worth it.
I ordered a vegan cake for my husband’s 50th birthday. I ordered a 10 inch round cake-chocolate with chocolate frosting and ganache. It is hands down the best cake I’ve had! The cake was moist and flavorful and the frosting wasn’t overly sweet. It was a hit! Thank you. We will be ordering all of our cakes from West Side Bakery.
I have ordered cakes from West Side Bakery multiple times. I have requested elegant, kid/fun, and unique/challenging…. When other bakers were hesitant to meet my expectations, West Side Bakery eagerly accepted. Each time, the look and the TASTE exceeded my VERY HIGH, TYPE A expectations!!!! The latest was my request for Rose’s door… you know, the broken piece from the movie Titanic. My son is OBSESSED with that ship and the wreckage and requested a Titanic themed 7th birthday party. I asked for detail and DISTRESSED. 🔨 WSB NAILED IT!!! Everyone raved over how good it tasted, too! He wanted a white cake with strawberry filling. It was so light and moist and decadent. I am now looking for opportunities to order again from West Side! THANK YOU TO THE WSB TEAM!!! You bring JOY to so many!
The West Bakery designed and executed the most beautiful dessert spread and cake for our wedding this August! The owner, Barb, listened to all of our preferences and ideas and created the dessert table and cake of our dreams! The table included everything from mini creme brûlées, tiramisus, buckeyes, chocolate strawberries, cookies, and more. They can really do anything and even included traditional desserts to represent our family’s heritage including baklava and kolachi. Everything was delicious and we received so many compliments! Our guests are still telling us how amazing the dessert table was and how delicious everything tasted! We could not have been happier with our experience and cannot recommend the West Side Bakery enough!
